In the last environment day Mr.Baby Mathew Managing Director of Somatheeram Ayurveda Team designed a mission to plant 2011 fruit trees and 2011 medicinal plants in all the resorts of this group as start against the slaughter of nature and global warming. The motive is to create an awareness to the present and future generation that a green and healthy nature only can make healthy generation. This mission is named as “Go green”. All the resorts and houseboats of Somatheeram Ayurveda Group interiors and materials are designed with ecofriendly products. The green issue is now very much mainstream, with governments, businesses and individuals all involved.

Somatheeram Ayurveda Group is committed to preserving the environment in which it operates and has developed a ‘sustainable environment’ commitment policy. We aim to apply its sustainable environment concepts in the areas of hotel design and operations. Herbs, fruits & vegitables used in the kitchen are grown in the Resorts’s organic gardens. The use of alternative material such as linen made bags rather than a plastic bag is encouraged. As a part of go green mission the resort offers offers eco-friendly sightseeing, the accommodation, transport and cooking methods are also eco-friendly. The group also plan to promote solar heating, bio-toilets, and using transport systems more efficiently. The group is continuing to explore and implement additional eco-friendly practices. We mainly use biodegradable guest bathroom products.
